Dear Katherine:

Congratulations! For more than 20 years you have exemplified leadership,Êintegrity and resilience as Executive Director of the Astraea Foundation in its many iterations. It isn't easy to navigate the currents you've dealt with. You've had the patience it takes to let others share in your vision of social justice and equality. You've had the tenacity to ensure that Astraea's values were integrated into that vision. Your wisdom and clarity have been at the core of Astraea's growth and organizational development.

As a member of Astraea's board, I've learned so much from you. As Board Chair, I couldn't have asked for a better Executive Director with whom to partner.

I am so sorry I won't be able to attend your celebration, but know that whatever part of the world I and my safari-mates are in on October 10th, all of us will be drinking a huge toast to you, and the incredible gift you have given to us--yourself!
