For the 20 years that you have led Astraea, you have spread your arms wide. You have embraced life, as wide and as deep as can be imagined. And then, being Katherine, you have spread your arms a little wider?out to the margins?inviting in those who are forgotten, who are not seen, who are not safe, who are not nourished, who are different, who are not loved. And you have embraced them all, passionately and compassionately.

We, the Board of Astraea, have been encircled by your limitless capacity to absorb the challenges of human difference and human despair. You have taught us to look for the new path when the old one closes, to keep asking ?why not?? when barriers rise to a new idea, to seek ourselves in others, to understand their lives, to share all that we are, know, have and dream.
